Hi BYC!
Hope you guys are doing well! So I’ve been on adventures mode and haven’t been really reading lately. But…. excited to say I am coming back home from an adventurous trip from Sicily, Italy! So… the trip started offf in Geneva where my family and I had a lay over for 1 day. It was SO nice! Wish you guys could have been there along the way! Didn’t get any good book pics or haul on this trip (well save that for next year 😋). We went to anauthentic Swiss restaurant where they served fondue and authentic Swiss meals. It was delicious and defitniely different! We enjoyed some food de latte gelato, which was unbelievable! Had a pane chocolat with some Swiss hot chocolate. When they say Swiss chocolate and diary are the best, they aren’t wrong. It was truly incredible! Geneva was extremely historical and very peaceful. Definitely recommend to stay for a couple of days for sure.
We then went to Sicily, Italy. We headed to Isola Della Femmina where we stayed. The hostel was Hotel Sirenetta. It was really great ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 would stay again. The hotel was clean and the staff were great! The rooms were nice and they had AC!! Each morning they serve complementary breakfast. I think the only down I had about the hotel was that the breakfast they served was the same each day but it was still good.
The next day we headed to Cefalù. What’s a gorgeous day! Water was so clear and warm. The city was quaint with gorgeous architecture. Definitely recommend swimming in the beautiful sea. We got to see a beautiful cathedral and ate some delicious gelato.
We then headed to Monreale, the city of mosaics and rightfully so. The city was enchanting. We visited the Cattedrale di Monreale and what an incredible Catherdral. The details in the mosaics is absolutely astonishing. We had the fortunate opportunity to see a master at mosaics tile some word. It was incredible! While at Monreale, we ate at La Macina restaurant. I had pistachio ricotta pasta and it was DELICIOUS! My sister had one of the best steaks in Italy. Highly recommend!
After Monreale, my family and I went to Carini, Palermo which was also beautiful. Although the weather wasn’t in our favor, it was still amazing to see.
Overall, the trip was great and high recommend Siciliy as a summer vacation. Definitely go during September where there is a nice breeze.
Book club is still going. Comment what page you are on and what you think of it so far :)
